For a long time, men were very fixed in their selection of swimsuits and swimwear. There was one standard style available for beachwear, indoor swimwear, and sports. In recent years however, men’s fashion choices for swimwear have mainly increased.
Swim Trunks
The most ordinary men’s swimwear that is considered to be a staple in most men’s wardrobes are the swim trunks. While the design is normally pretty ordinary and simple, what makes swim trunks distinguishable is the design on the material used. Men may choose from animal prints, solid colors, stripes, plaids, polka dots, or any other pattern or design that may be dreamt up underneath the sun. There may also be slight variations amid suits by adding pockets or cording. Men’s swimwear also has the option of a drawstring or an elastic waistband.
The Speedo
Beyond boxer and brief swimwear that men were fixed to for so long, Speedo changed the look of the market by launching skin-tight Lycra swimsuits (not just for men, but also for women). In terms of coverage, the men’s Speedo offers the least amount of coverage, with men’s swimming boxers cover a bit more, and men’s swimwear briefs supplying the most amount of coverage. The small, skin-tight Speedo for men is most often bestloved by the die-hard swimmer as it presents the most freedom and ease for the whole range of swimming strokes.
Racing Briefs
While men’s swimwear trunks are more general with the causal swimmer, men’s racing briefs are preferent by the severe swimmers. These racing briefs are optimized for those racing and diving. They are designed with the need for durability in mind, in particular the prolonged effects of chlorine. The material is specifically chosen because it is chlorine resistant. For the severe swimmer who practically lives in his swimsuit, he peculiarly needs to keep in mind the harsh effect chlorine may have on material.
Board Shorts
For the casual swimmer and those who participate in water sports for recreation, the most usual choice in men’s swimwear are board shorts. This style of swimwear offers the most coverage out of all the men’s swimsuit styles as they are ordinarily rather long, comparatively. Board shorts commonly have a laced-up waistline and are likewise made out of polyester.
Initially, men’s swimwear were designed using cotton materials, but in recent years, men’s swimsuits are normally made out of a polyester blend as it is water immune and accordingly doesn’t become water-logged and heavy for the swimmer. This polyester swimwear often has a net lining on the inside. While the material has changed, the basic design of men’s swimwear has not. However, the choices for that design have expanded from basic swimming trunks, to now likewise include men’s thongs and board shorts briefs.
The most prevalent style of men’s swimwear are swim trunks and board shorts as these offer the most versatility, are often times the most flattering (falling anyplace from mid thigh to mid calf), and offer the proprietor the prospect to be distinctive in their selection through the wide range of fabric patterns offered.

Speedo Surfrunner offers Best of Both Worlds By Roland Escher Speedo Surfrunner swim shorts offer the best of both worlds — After moving to a place where we hit the beach assorted times a week, I was looking to replace my beloved Quicksilver water shorts. The Surfrunners are precisely what I was looking for. The Surfrunners offer more coverage than briefs or a “square leg” design. Yet they are not as tight-fitting. They are likewise significantly shorter than surf trunks. So you will not get a tan line underneath your knee. And the Surfrunners won’t stick to your thighs like a wet rag when you get out of the water. In addition to the Striped Surfrunner (Speedo Men’s Fashion Polyester Taslan Solid Striped Surf Runner Volley 14″ Outseam Watershort Swimsuit), there is also a Solid Surfrunner version (Speedo Men’s Fashion Polyester Taslan Solid Surf Runner Volley 14″ Outseam Watershort Swimsuit). Now that I have confirmed the good fit with one pair, I suppose to get various more to rotate.
Some potential drawbacks of these swim shorts: The fabric is on the rough side, not silky smooth like a rashguard. And other than an internal key pocket, there are no outside pockets at all. In my mind, though, that is an advantage. Pockets catch sand at the beach, and make shorts look more baggy — two things that I don’t like and will refrain from with these shorts.
Bottom line: The Speedo Surfrunner swim shorts are perfective if you are looking for the best of both worlds. More coverage than briefs, with similar freedom of movement. And different from surf trunks, no clumsy, sticky, long legs.

Best bathing suit that I have ever purchased By Tom The Speedo Tastan 14″ outseam is the best bathing suit that I have ever purchased. I swim 3 to 4 times a week at the YMCA and necessitated a bathing suit that was not to long like most surfer bathing suits you see for sale and I didn’t want a tight suit that one commonly associates with a Speedo suit. Since I am a mature man, I am past those days where a tight Speedo is appropriate. I confess that I was a little lerry when I original ordered the Speedo Tastan becasue of the ad description could have been a little more descriptive. For instance, was the 14″ lenght outseam measured from the top of the suit to the bottom or from the bottom ot the elastic waist which is where the seam of the suit begins. It is measured from the top. It turns out the lenght is perfective and the suit has a nice comfortable lining with drawstings to adjust the waist. It likewise dries very fast. I am very satisfied and would give this suit a 5 star rating. So much so that I plan to buy another as soon as Amazon offers free shipping for the holidays. P.S. The Amazon client service team also rates 5 stars. I had an issue an they resolved it along with following uo to see if I was satisifed. Good work by that team.

For those who hate long baggy swimsuits By J. Devine The trend for most suits now having the length underneath the knee and in truth baggy. If you’re like me and don’t like that trend, this is the suit for you. Loose sufficient for comfort, you don’t have a damp clammy suit covering you legs after you swim. Speedo, so well made and designed. Waterproof bag in pocket is a plus.
